What Do You Do When You Get Triggered?

Dear one here to heal,

I hope you’re basking in the light that is this gorgeous fall day in some way.

This past weekend, I ran a retreat and one of the themes was moving through triggered emotions with the help of the Earth. (I used to get nervous when running retreats. But now after having facilitated quite a few over the years, there’s a flow that seems to work and that I trust. I even enjoy myself now!)

As we healed in the retreat, we connected deeply with the elements of the Earth. 🍂🍁🪨🌊🌻We nourished our bodies with the high-vibe, organic meals of the colors of the rainbow cooked by my dear friend Cheryl.

That combined with a cold plunge, some dancing and silliness, our Inner Children also came out to play. (I guided people in some impromptu intuitive movement going WAY out of my comfort zone and it felt really good!)

We brought in St Francis of Assisi, Archangel Ariel, nature spirit, Mother Cacao and of course the energy of the Holy Spirit of All That Is. With these loving sources to help us intuitively receive messages from and then offer love to Mother Earth and all her gifts, we also allowed in our own healing through meditation, hypnotherapy and yes of course there was yoga in there too.

The energies of these loving beings, and of the Earth, can be used for all of us to help us move through hard situations, which we all inevitably face as we move through the cycles of life.

In particular, someone in our lives does or says something that triggers us, it doesn’t feel good. It can really throw us off.

Ultimately, the emotions that arise through relationships with others are there to give us information.

If we can sit with and notice the emotion, it eventually can help us move through stuck patterns, often that are very old (from childhood and past lives).

The emotions are there to help us heal.

We can’t treat something we can’t see, so it has to come to the surface to be transmuted!

The trick is that we often push the emotions away since they don’t feel good.

This short video offers some more thoughts on how to work with these situations to move through the triggers – to release the emotion and to learn a deeper soul lesson in the process.

One of the ways we can begin to heal from our triggers is to go into light, into our higher self, to get a birds-eye perspective. I personally like angels and Ascended Masters for this, and of course, my favorite way is to go into the Akashic Records.

It’s in places like these – in retreats and classes – where we can have space to get away where we have the ability to really notice what’s coming up for us in our lives to heal and then to do the work.

To have the trust of the people (maybe like you) who come to retreats or classes with me, sharing what’s in your hearts and offering support and love to one another, is truly a gift like none other.

It’s sometimes so wild for me to reflect on the fact that I am doing this work in this way. It’s so fun and it’s really just me sharing what I love.
