Divine Laws To Remember When Things Get Crappy

It’s been an interesting few weeks. We had a beautiful blossoming of grass and buds starting here in Maine, and then we got dumped with snow a few nights ago. So it goes in early spring!

This is kind of how it has felt in recent months. Really intense and challenging. When Mercury went into retrograde though, things started changing (and in a good way). It started lightening.

And yet, many of us are in for the ride of our lives. We are packing in so many lessons, so much pattern-breaking into a very short amount of time.

To help us get through it, we can try “all the things” (quieting the mind, prayer, clearing energy, doing inner child/Ego work, trying to just have fun, visualizing, etc). But sometimes it just still sucks! And then, we just ride the wave.

When we are in the thick of it, and not sure what’s going on, as I mention in the video above, there’s likely a few things going on.

Here’s an excerpt from my book, Tools for the Awakening Soul, on the Divine laws that affect our lives as humans:

[W]ith the widespread awakening of so many of us on Earth today, we are learning to embody and integrate these Divine laws at every level of our consciousness. We are taking back our power. Here are these laws as I have experienced them, and have witnessed them with clients, repeatedly and without fail.

The Law of Destiny (Fate)

Sometimes, things just happen to us without us doing anything consciously or subconsciously to bring them about, and we don’t know why. As a hypnotherapist and through my experiences in the Akashic Records, I believe that we decide the circumstances, and certain major events, in our lives before we are born. We set up certain situations that will help us learn, grow and self-actualize. We have no memory of these choices as we, or our Higher Selves (our true selves in the spirit realm), made these decisions pre-incarnation with the advice and support of loving, spiritual guides. These situations thus have been predetermined to help us learn a lesson that we decided was important for our soul growth. These lessons often are about balancing our karma from past lives. For instance, we may choose to be born into a family who will abuse us so we have the opportunity to learn forgiveness, or we may choose to be born into a physically handicapped body to learn unconditional self-love.

In the spirit realm, we make agreements with other souls who incarnate with us to help us learn, and we support them in kind. In fact, those who most challenge us likely agreed to play this role as part of the pact we made with them. People who are the most difficult for us to get along with in our lives can be our greatest teachers! And people with whom we incarnate repeatedly are part of our “soul group.” The predetermined agreement with people in our soul group is otherwise known as our “soul contract.”

Some find the Law of Destiny hard to accept when it comes to tragic events/circumstances. It may seem as if blame is being placed on the person experiencing the hardship, as if it’s their fault in some way. I have talked with people who have undergone significant loss who see how the Divine Law of Destiny applied to that tragedy. In fact, this understanding may have helped them in their healing process to release any anger at God or a higher power for “allowing” such a tragedy to happen.

The Law of Free Will

While the Law of Destiny is responsible for situations in our lives that come about due to our soul contracts, we still have the ability to make our own choices once we have incarnated in a body. Our conscious decisions in various situations are how we spiritually evolve! Like a child learning to manage emotions, we may not always make the best choices. Even if we act in a way that is harmful to ourselves or others, we will have endless opportunities to choose differently throughout our lives. We can always try again next time. The Law of Free Will is therefore about personal responsibility. The concept of personal responsibility is an important one for humanity to learn, as I have learned in the Akashic Records. We are accountable for our own decisions. In fact, many of us have been trained subconsciously to fear personal responsibility over the freedom to act independently. It’s often easier to let someone else make choices for us.

The Process of Co-Creation

These two laws, the Laws of Destiny and of Free Will, work together in the unfolding of our lives as one magical process of co-creation, which is the idea that our lives are created jointly by ourselves and by an outside, Divine force.

Together, these two laws explain how and why certain events occur. We move through life with these two forces guiding us every step of the way! To truly align with our souls’ desires, we can learn to incorporate both of these Laws in any area of our lives. Yet, the art of co-creation is often what takes the most practice to learn and to really master.

Our own Higher Selves, with the support of Divine forces (our spiritual guides), create the foundational map for our lives. After we are born into a certain body, our conscious, human selves add the creative flourishes, bringing that map to life with all its details and intricacies. This map, or soul contract, can also be viewed as a Divine Plan. We can change this Divine Plan with our free will choices, but the energies are already flowing in a certain direction. Because of the life circumstances that we choose pre-incarnation, our lives have greater probabilities of flowing in one way as opposed to another. However, with free will, we can alter that flow.

Having a Divine Plan is like being given the basic ingredients to make cookies, but being able to change the ingredients as you please. You can throw out all of the ingredients, and make choices that deviate from your Divine Plan, but the energies are more conducive to you fulfilling your soul contract in a certain way.

In accordance with the Law of Free Will, we have the ability to change the direction of our lives, for better or for worse. We co-create our lives when we harness the Law of Destiny and the Law of Free Will in this way: we follow the signs laid out for us (the Law of Destiny), while making conscious decisions in our lives (the Law of Free Will).

When we channel the Law of Free Will in ways that correspond to our Divine Plan, we make choices that align with our hearts. We know when something is right for us because it feels right in our bodies. Along with the Law of Resonance (otherwise known as the Law of Attraction), co-creation can be used in powerful ways to create what we long for in our lives, in conjunction with what our Higher Self has set out for us. When we make choices that match our soul’s desires, and flow with the energies around us, we are working with the Law of Resonance.

May this be of service in some way and support you on your path of clearing, healing and expansion.

(By the way, I have a few free “hidden” downloads – handouts and meditations – that you may find helpful to move through heavy stuff in your life.)

With blessings as always,

Rachel
